Last Day Preparations

Today is mom’s birthday!
Mom wanted to take a photo with the cows in the field. Dad started up the lawn mower and all the cows came in for some free grass. My mother got to feed them by hand!
Auntie cooked an amazing meal for the birthday girl. The bittersweet melon with pork belly and Thai chilli salmon were better than any dish you could get from a restaurant! After lunch, we had a Madeira Cake with raspberry jam and buttercream. We also put a candle in a egg custard tart that I bought from Morrison. I found it in my freezer when we were cleaning out my fridge in Glasgow.
Katie taught Uncle Ming how to set up his tent in the backyard to test out their new £18 purchase from ASDA. We should have bought a tent from ASDA too, instead of lugging our 4 person coleman all the way from Toronto.
When Uncle and Auntie went to work, Dad and Katie did some housework. They potted flowers for Auntie and fixed a coffee table for Uncle. They also trimmed the apple tree in the backyard. Holly loved playing catch with the sticks. My dad used one to lure her into a photo but it backfired a little when Holly lunged for it and caught my mother’s sweater in her mouth too!
We had to (re)pack all our luggage. Everything was set into two piles: Iceland and Toronto. We spread out all our things in Nick’s room. It was quite messy but we were finally organized after a few hours! Nine big pieces of luggage and all our carry-on.
We ended up sleeping at 3am because we were enjoying all the photos we’ve taken since the whole family got reunited again. There were so many funny photos. We can’t wait to see what memories we will create on this trip!
